Blaga Petreska, MCWA’s HACC Coordinator for the Northern Region, not only assists the Macedonian community during work hours, but has also, for the last 10 years, provided financial and practical support to children who are seriously ill and their families in the Republic of Macedonia through her leadership of the Women’s Humanitarian Association ‘Hope - Nadez’, of which she has been President for 6 years.

The Macedonian Community Welfare Association had the opportunity to receive guests from the Republic of Macedonia, Vladimir Gjorchev, Ilija Dimovski and Marija Andonovska¸ as part of the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of Australia. During this visit,
MCWA new resource - DVD is about recognizing the first signs of drug and alcohol use and their effects and is to be used as an information tool for parents and young people of Macedonian speaking background.
The City of Whittlesea annually organises a community festival, providing an array of colour, art, food, entertainment, culture and community. The festival is an opportunity for a diverse range of groups to come together from a number of schools, community groups, disability groups, sporting groups, local performers and local businesses.
